A Tuff Competitor

SIXTEEN-year-old Oliver Tuff and Darino B showed their rivals how to tackle a jump-off course with a brilliant round to take the £500 winner’s prize in the Empire Coach Builders grand prix at Bicton’s September championship show.

Oliver started competing his 12-year-old gelding at the beginning of 2017 and they have an amazing partnership that includes winning the 2018 Foxhunter final at HOYS and a place on this year’s junior European championship team.

“He’s such a fantastic horse. Every time he goes out he seems to get better. It doesn’t matter if a course is 1.10m or 1.40m: he jumps everything the same,” said Oliver, who was delighted that the pair’s first grand prix victory came at their local venue.

“It’s a fabulous arena and they work so hard on the going that I love jumping here,” he said.
