Toyota has an enviable reputation for producing reliable, long-lasting vehicles. This becomes clear from a glance at the marketplace; second-hand Toyotas command higher prices than most other brands, and many international groups buy only Toyota vehicles.

Toyota Motor Corporation has its headquarters in a Japanese town called Toyota City, formerly Koromo. Many Toyota facilities, including the company’s first plant, are nearby.

Toyota is one of four automotive groups that have produced more than nine million vehicles in the last four years. It is also a leader in fuel-cell and hybrid vehicles; more than 10 million Prius and Lexus models of this type have been sold to date.

In addition to Toyota and Lexus vehicles, the company sells Hino and Daihatsu vehicles and has stakes in Subaru, Isuzu and the component manufacturer Denso. It has joint ventures with many companies and is the largest listed company in Japan.
