The pomp and ceremony of Cyril Ramaphosa’s appointment as the country’s new president is history too. His SONA speech to Parliament was full of noble promises of reform and rooting out corruption. The currency has responded positively.
At the time of writing, the names of those who will remain in the reduced Cabinet have yet to be announced. Those implicated in corruption will, we hope, face prosecution. The Guptas, too, are history, with the Hawks searching for absconders, and state capture suspects are on NPA lists. Our courts will be busy.
