In early spring, spotting a mountain hare is easier than expected
MONADLHLIATH MOUNTAINS, SCOTLAND
I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE: species identification is not my strong point. In fact, I’m pretty terrible at it, having once pointed out a family of beavers only to discover it was a female mallard and her entourage of young ducklings. But when it came to searching for the iconic mountain hare in Scotland’s Monadlhliath Mountains for my book, I had renewed hopes for my identification skills.
