We are pleased to present an early issue of My Alvernia #35 to coincide with Nurses’ Day. To commemorate the special day on 1 Aug, we focus on the diverse nursing staff on top of the usual healthcare articles. We will also profile the special people behind the care. (page 14). Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a sleeping disorder common for people with type 2 diabetes. Learn more about its link with diabetes and how it can be treated. (page 28). Pregnancy is no doubt an exciting and rewarding journey, but you may also worry about how much food to consume while carrying your growing baby. We bring you Part 1 of a 2-parter article on how to eat healthily during your pregnancy (page 30). Finally, studies shown that women are more likely to start and continue breastfeeding if they receive positive encouragement from their family and friends. We look at some breast milk storage tips for when you go back to work, and an action plan to help you (page 34).
