Our February issue takes on the challenge of the world’s social and economic inequalities and what to do to bridge the gap between the few rich and the masses of impoverished people. Economists say that there is need to change the current economic system that creates injustice and inequality. For example, the world-famous economist Jeffery Sachs suggests getting world leaders to put the money that they waste on armaments into fighting poverty. Another economist with the Focolare Movement, Luigino Bruni, proposes an Economy of Communion centered on nonprofit oriented companies that include the poor.
