Nelung Arts Centre is an establishment that aims to support and enhance arts, dance and theatre in Sri Lanka. This multi-purpose building encompasses a theatre, dance school, art gallery, office space and restaurant.
Transforming a cold structure of an abandoned oil mill to an abode in which art and culture is nurtured, moulded and sustained is eternally a challenge considering the functional dimensions of either task.
Architecture is a creative manipulation of mass, space and volume, enhanced and flavoured with textures, light and shadows and most importantly the functionality and practicality of cost and construction technology incorporated aesthetically.
"Converting an existing car showroom service centre, to a Rocell bathware concept centre; an elegant and stylish living space, that would stimulate and inspire visitors, was a challenge”.
