A fascinating discussion on the inspiration and influence that stimulated Sri Lanka’s legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa and the resulting iconic designs are presented in the latest book by Dr Shanti Jayewardene.

Simple with clean lines and a minimalist approach has enabled the architect to maximise the land area to create initially a house that has been transformed into a boutique villa.

Hosting the story of humanity, this small citadel constructed with buildings, squares and alleys is umbrellaed for comfort by a magnificent dome that forms and creates a layer of artificial nature on top.
The Japanese master applied his remarkable skills to a house on a small plot for a collector, turning a challenging exterior into wonderfully spatial architecture in tune with its furnishings by famous 1950s’ designers.
