So many exhibitions and shows influence the
fashion system and design, and the influence that Africa exercises on current aesthetics is
also strong, imparting a new intense, energetic, fresh, and innovative vision. The photography of
a dynamic and vital reality, that with its proximity to art, contributes through important
exhibitions worldwide, such as the most recent events held at the Maxxi in Rome, the
Guggenheim, UBS MAP Global Art Initiative at the Galleria d’Arte in Milan, and the exhibition
curated by the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris. Following the path that connects cultures and
different traditions, there was also Milano Unica, which presented its own themes on
trends for the new season, as usual. In this edition, it’s Spring/Summer
2020 with Music Menu. By taking a risk with transversal fusions through music and food,
past and future, rhythm and flavors, the journey of different echoes in rap funky, and jazz
unwinds. All the senses are involved, including the experience of sound and food, with Cous
Cous Rap, then the quick meter of music meets one of North Africa’s typical dishes,
with Funky Tabbouleh and, on the wave of a disco music beat, Bon Bon Jazz with suffused
ironic glamour. For Summer 2020, Pitti Filati bets on sports, the Far East, and subcultures.
Between tradition and innovation, cultural mixtures and overlapping styles, between national
sports and “new” sports from the street and youthful subcultures, the focus is on inclusion and
on the world of a new generation and a new sensitivity
that is narrated through hybrid style codes.
