With the onset of June, the sultry weather of the past few months is slowing giving way to more pleasant climatic conditions. Also, ‘World Environment Day’ is observed during this month, as a reminder to treat our planet with more care, conscientiousness and affection. Nature has been rightly called ‘Mother Earth’ because she cares for us, nourishes and nurtures us. But in return, we spurn and hurt her with insensitivity and a careless approach.
‘World Environment Day’ is meant to help us reconnect with Nature and to take corrective measures to make amends for the damage we’ve inflicted on the Earth. Thus this month, some of the topics we’ve decided to focus on are loss/ earth/ soul/ goals etc. These are of paramount importance in our lives and hence need much thought and reflection.
Globalization and industrialization has left our planet and its resources in a deplorable state. Consequently, we are often witnessing natural turbulences in the environment caused due to global warming. Also, as a result of modern technology and the mechanized lives we lead today, we have lost connect with the Earth. Treading on the grass, soil, sand etc. with protective shoes on our feet is very common and the acceptable thing to do. However, our ancestors had a very profound connection with the Earth and thus, greatly benefitted from its energy.
