Angola: Is this diamond forever? is the title of the first issue of The Worldfolio Magazine, a new quarterly publication dedicated to the economies with the highest growth potential. Published by Worldfolio Ltd, The Worldfolio provides in-depth analysis on business and economics in the countries it covers, through articles and interviews with senior government officials, CEOs and other experts. The goal is to provide a platform for knowledgeable local professionals who can explain the political and economic realities behind the headlines and the bare macroeconomic data.

The Worldfolio magazine also describes daily life in these countries, through articles on lifestyle, culture and tourism –once again, using expert local knowledge. The new publication combines hard facts with lively, informative writing in a contemporary magazine format designed to capture the interest of a sophisticated readership.

Our first issue, on Angola, tells how this oil-rich southern African nation is putting its petroleum revenues to work to diversify the economy and assure sustainable, long-term growth. We provide a “big-picture” view of the Angolan economy and also examine a number of specific sectors.

First is Angola´s diamond industry, which is once again attracting the attention of global multinationals. Other articles examine Angola’s oil and gas industry, its construction boom, telecoms industry and the effort to revive the agricultural sector. We also explain the role Angolan investors have played in helping the country´s former colonial master, Portugal, out of recession.

In addition, the magazine features signed articles by two of the leading economists in Angola regarding the country´s short- and medium term growth prospects.

Finally, Worldfolio No. 1 describes daily life in Luanda, the Angolan capital –ranked as the most expensive city in the world – and about the music, food and other diversions that can be found there and around the country.
