The spread of low cost information and communication has given those in the poorest regions unprecedented access to information, goods, government services, health services, and education and has generated jobs in the most unlikely hard to reach regions.
The spread of mobile broadband is certain to drive and accelerate these trends. Rising income, a growing number of knowledge workers, and the ripple effect generated by the ever-wider distribution of connected devices are sure to boost the economy and a great many of the benefits will flow down and reach out to even the poorest most remote citizens of India.
