Romance means different things to different people, and much like the evolution of luxury, romance too has evolved, matured and remoulded. For some, the Maldives is the epitome of amorous enchantment and escapism, whilst to others, trekking through the jungles of Borneo is a more contemporary interpretation of romance. Here, we hope to ignite passion of every description with eight unconventional destinations for every Valentine’s Day whim.

With the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature upon us, I speak to multi-award winning wildlife cameraman, Gavin Thurston, who recounts his most dangerous encounters, the 30 years he has spent working with Sir David Attenborough, and the responsibility he feels in helping inspire and incite a love of nature in the next generation.

We also speak to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ CEO, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, about the launch of the Black Badge Cullinan, affectionately known as the ‘king of the night’, as well as market habits, and the role Rolls-Royce will play in innovating the industry forwards.
