NU Bulldogs capture the OPPO Hyper Legend Cup title, reinforcing the Philippines’ dominance in the MLBB collegiate scene

The Philippines continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s esports powerhouses after the NU Bulldogs emerged as grand champions at the OPPO Hyper Legend Cup x MLBB Campus Series in Malaysia. Representing the country against eight of the region’s top collegiate teams, the Bulldogs secured the championship following a high-pressure Grand Finals victory over Malaysia’s KPTM x Velocity, earning a share of the tournament’s USD100,000 prize pool.

Rather than relying on aggressive early-game tactics, the NU Bulldogs built their campaign around discipline, patience, and map control. Throughout the tournament, the squad focused on measured decision-making, waiting for key openings instead of forcing engagements. That composure became even more evident during the Grand Finals, where the team dictated the pace through cleaner team fights and more decisive objective control.

The victory further highlights the Philippines’ continued rise in the competitive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene, particularly at the collegiate level, where local teams have consistently produced standout performances across regional tournaments.
