Lee flies to Curlew Cup victory

DAS-Hutchinson continue to dominate women's National Road Series, reports Adam Becket

Nine years ago, Lucy Lee raced the Curlew Cup as her first-ever National Road Series race, and was forced to abandon just five miles into the event.
Almost a decade later, at elite level, the DAS-Hutchinson rider raised her arms in triumph at the race, soloing to victory at the National A event in Northumbria. It wasn't her first Nat A victory, that came at the Ryedale GP last year, but it was just as special.
"This was my first National Series race as a junior back in 2016. I got dropped five miles into the race, turned around and went back to the start," she said. "It's nice to return nine years later and win."
It is the third National Road Series event won by DAS-Hutchinson this season, and Robyn Clay sits at the top of the overall standings, having also won the National Circuit Series title.
"The past few years of the race, it has finished in a sprint, but we wanted to change that narrative," Lee told
