Warning as road markings turned into England flags

COUNCIL chiefs have reminded people to not paint flags or attach flags on public property without permission, however patriotic the intent.
The Plymouth City Council warning comes after recent reports across the UK of the red cross of St George being painted onto white mini-roundabouts. Council staff have faced an online backlash after being forced to scrub them off.
An issue in previous years across the country, councils say markings on the highway could pose a safety risk.
During the 2018 World Cup, fans painted England flags on mini-roundabouts in towns and cities across England, including in Leigham in Plymouth with warnings issued over the vandalism.
