Son locks ailing mother at home for holy dip
The New Indian Express Bengaluru
|February 21, 2025
IN a disturbing case of parental abuse, a son locked up his 68-year-old ailing mother inside her home and went to the Maha Kumbh with his in-laws for a holy dip.
Her plight came to light four days later when, on Wednesday, she managed to drag herself to the house's main gate and banged the door, drawing attention.
Neighbours heard the sound and broke open the lock of the CCL quarter in Sirka-Argadda in Ramgarh and rescued the woman. She has been hospitalized. The incident shocked the police, who promised to take action if a complaint was lodged against her son.
The son did not appear agitated when contacted, saying instead that he had made all arrangements for her stay during his trip.
