That's the view of former Newcastle and England winger Chris Waddle, who has serious doubts over the quality and depth of Eddie Howe's squad, despite a £253million summer outlay.
Newcastle bolstered their ranks in the transfer window with moves for Aaron Ramsdale, Malick Thiaw, Jacob Ramsey, Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and Anthony Elanga. They parted company with Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff.
