Lotus River couple is appealing for community support as they care for their 10-month-old daughter, Asha Hope Valentine, who was diagnosed with a complex inoperable cardiac lesion shortly after birth.

- WESLEY FORD

Asha was born prematurely at 37 weeks to parents Tarron and Bradley Valentine. During a routine scan at 34 weeks, doctors noticed that her heart rate was unusually slow, raising concerns about her health before she was born.

Following her birth, Asha experienced breathing difficulties and other complications linked to her heart condition. According to her mother, her heart rate was recorded at just 50 beats per minute, which is significantly below the normal range of 100 to 160 beats per minute for infants.

“She still has to go to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital whenever she gets sick,” said Ms Valentine.
