New healthcare centre aiming to help reduce NHS waiting times
South Wales Echo
|June 27, 2026
THE first image showing what a huge new healthcare centre which is planned to help slash NHS waiting times will look like has been released.
Construction of the Llantrisant Health Park near the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Rhondda Cynon Taf began earlier this year and it’s hoped it will improve access to diagnostic tests and planned surgery for people across southeast Wales when completed.
The first phase of the health park will create a “state-of-the-art” community diagnostic hub - a purpose-built facility which will offer a range of diagnostic services including MRI and CT scanning as well as endoscopy diagnostics.
