Hundreds in rain gather for gangland duo funeral
Scottish Daily Express
|July 05, 2025
HUNDREDS of mourners braved heavy rain yesterday to attend the funeral of two Scottish gangland figures who were shot dead in a Spanish bar.
Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr were gunned down five weeks ago today at a beachfront bar in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol amid an ongoing underworld feud which has engulfed Scotland.
Yesterday afternoon, a fleet of silver limousines followed hearses containing the coffins of the friends, while a Range Rover headed the cortege.
The service was held at Bishopbriggs Crematorium, just north of Glasgow, a week after their bodies were repatriated by the Spanish authorities.
Floral tributes reading 'Dad', 'Son' and 'Ross' could be seen in the vehicles.
Around 500 family and friends were present to pay their respects amid tight security.
Among the mourners was Eddie Lyons Snr, 67, father of Eddie Lyons Jnr.
