The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta has advised Filipinos there to stay indoors amid the recent violent protests that have sparked across the country.

In an advisory, the embassy said the Filipino community in Jakarta should "stay indoors in light of recent and continuing demonstrations being held in various areas" in Indonesia's capital city.

“Filipinos currently in Jakarta should exercise caution and vigilance for safety, and avoid large crowds that may put themselves in danger,” it added.
