ROWLAND EXPECTED TO GET NOD FOR ENGLAND'S WORLD CUP QUARTER-FINAL SHOWDOWN AGAINST AULD ENEMY
-
HELENA Rowland has already been described as “Miss Versatility” by England head coach John Mitchell.
So perhaps it is no surprise that the Loughborough Lightning utility back is being tipped to fill the boots of World Rugby women’s player of the year Ellie Kildunne.
She will miss England’s Rugby World Cup quarterfinal showdown against Scotland on Sunday after showing concussion symptoms in the pool match against Australia.
Fullback Kildunne had to go off early in the second half, but the Red Roses coped without their star player, winning 47-7 after overcoming a shaky opening period.
Mitchell has prepared for nearly every World Cup eventuality in the past two seasons, with his side beating France without Kildunne in April to seal a fourth consecutive Women’s Six Nations Grand Slam.
