Greer visit may finalise India-US deal

India and the US may give final touches to an interim bilateral trade deal (BTA) when US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer visits New Delhi next week even as an Indian negotiating team is in the UK to address some of that country's protectionist moves that pose a hurdle to the operationalisation of the India-UK free trade agreement signed in July 2025.
Commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal on Monday confirmed that Greer is scheduled to land in India on June 22, and hold traderelated discussions with senior Indian officials, including Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal on June 23 and 24.
