Smiths beaten in promotion play-off - under protest

» SMITHS Rugby were beaten 45-28 by Dings Crusaders Il in their Counties 2 Gloucestershire North/South play-off clash - but ahead of the game they informed the GRFU that they were playing ‘the game under protest.

With tries for Jack Davies, Mitch Renton and Marcus Raymond, along with two Raymond conversions and three penalties, Smiths got themselves back to 28-28 with 15 minutess ‘to go, but Dings scored three late tries to take the win and the promotion spot.
However Smiths, who won the C2GN league title with a perfect record, yet feel, that with an extra club being promoted from the league above, Counties 1 Western North, that both they and Dings both deserve to be promoted.
