Oliver admits he's never experienced pressure like at Gers.. but insists he has mental strength to cope
OLIVER ANTMAN has been told that playing for Rangers is the toughest mental challenge in Europe.
But the Ibrox new boy insists he’s ready to meet it head-on.
The Finnish winger knows life in Glasgow will be different to what hes used to in Scandinavia or in the Netherlands with former club Go Ahead Eagles.
Old Nordsjaelland teammate Mohamed Diomande has warned him that Rangers will be a whole new experience.
But it won't faze the bold 23-year-old.
Instead, Antman insists that mental challenge is exactly what drew him to Russell Martin's new-look squad - and he wasted no time proving he can handle it.
With just 24 hours to prepare, the 23-year-old was thrown straight in for his Ibrox debut against Viktoria Plzen in Tuesday night's Champions League qualifier.
Despite barely unpacking his bags, Antman lit up the right flank with a fearless display, winning a penalty before teeing up Djeidi Gassama for Rangers third goal in a commanding first-leg win.
It was a bold call from Martin, but one that paid off - and Antman believes the trust shown in him so early has given him a real confidence boost.
Rather than feel overwhelmed, the Finn says the lack of time to overthink actually helped him settle in quickly and play with freedom.
It's been a whirlwind start to life in Glasgow for the former Nordsjaelland star. But he knows exactly what's expected of him now - and is under no illusions about the pressure that comes with wearing the shirt.
He said: “The last few days have been pretty crazy, to be honest. [haven't really had time to think about everything.
“On Thursday, I had a day off and I could think alittle bit more about what's happened.
