Brook backs pace ace Baker to deliver

- BY NEIL SQUIRES

ENGLAND will unleash their latest 90mph speedster Sonny Baker on South Africa today at Headingley.

The 22-year-old, who took a hat-trick against the Northern Superchargers in this summer's Hundred for Manchester Originals, will make his full England debut in the first game of the three-match ODI series.

Harry Brook describes Baker as an "out there" character who drinks bone broth daily to guard against injury and carries a notebook with him to jot down observations on everything from opponents to ground dimensions.

But it is his pace rather than his peculiarities which has turned England's heads.
