Devastation for dad after children ‘lose everything’ in house fire

A BIRMINGHAM dad told of his devastation after his children lost everything in a fire.

The blaze started near Manningford Road in Kings Heath on June 5.

It was not known how the fire started but it spread to a home with someone inside.

Father-of-three Stu Shepherd’s children were out at the time but his daughter’s boyfriend was asleep in bed.

Stu, 34, said: “My daughter’s boyfriend was asleep when he heard a crackling noise.

“He came down and saw the garden was on fire. He panicked and called my daughter who was with her mother.
