Rolex has partnered with the Masters Tournament for over two decades—a collaboration that has withstood the test of time, just like the game of golf.
I PICKED UP THE GAME of golf in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, mainly because I really wanted to get out of the house and stay active, and it was the only approved sport. Even then, my golfing friends discussed Rolex Testimonee Tiger Woods's miraculous win at the 2019 Masters Tournament, two years after the feat was achieved.
Intrigued, I went home, fired up YouTube, and consumed every possible content around his win. Even now, several years later, I'll watch a few clips from the tournament before a round of golf, in the hopes that his triumph might rub off on my game—always in vain, naturally.
That year also marked the 20th anniversary of Rolex's enduring partnership with the Masters Tournament. Besides Woods, the watchmaker counts several illustrious golfers as its Testimonees such as Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus. They are all part of the Rolex family—long after their retirement from the sport.Denne historie er fra Issue 226 (June 2026)-udgaven af August Man SG.
