Spurs v Manchester City

We may have enjoyed a bright start to the season, but the message from HARRY KANE is clear – we must not get carried away. And while he is proud to be continually reaching new milestones in front of goal, Harry will not be getting distracted, with his focus solely on reaching new heights with the team.

HUMILITY THE KEY

Goal scoring milestones are something that Harry Kane has continually scythed through in his career to date – and with another two major landmarks reached in recent weeks, there seems no stopping him.

In our last two outings, our homegrown marksman first fired home his 200th goal in a Spurs shirt against Ludogorets before he went on to grab goal number 150 in the Premier League with the winner at West Bromwich Albion. To put the achievement of those milestones into perspective, Harry is only the third player in our 138-year history to reach 200 goals in our colours as he joins Jimmy Greaves (266) and Bobby Smith (208) in the elite club.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, our number 10 is now the joint-ninth highest goalscorer in the competition’s history. And he has reached those heights despite being just 27 years old. At such an age, players are believed to have only just started to enter the ‘prime’ spell of their careers - a period where they are expected to reach the peak of their powers. The early signs from Harry are certainly adding credence to that theory.

Despite us being just two months into the new season, the Walthamstow-born striker already has 13 goals to his name. Add to that 10 assists – seven of those coming for Heung-Min Son alone – and that’s 27 goal involvements in only 14 games. Since Jose Mourinho took charge of the team just over a year ago, Kane has been involved in 39 goals in 33 appearances.

But what is it about Harry that sees him continue to rise almost relentlessly in the game?
