We start off the year on a positive note with our cover lady for this month as our this year's pick for our Asia's Most Stylish--Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez.
Although the phrase “beautiful inside and out” has become cliché, it is the most apt description of her. She has served as the congresswoman of her native city Ormoc in Leyte since 2010. During her watch, Ormoc bore the brunt of super typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan), one of the strongest tropical typhoons on record. The havoc it created was likened to a nuclear bomb destroying lives and property. Lucy and her husband, Mayor Richard Gomez, have made it their mission to rebuild what has been lost; and today, Ormoc is on its road to recovery.
