A A lot of men, including me, think it’s wise to live together before you sign up to be lifelong roommates—mostly because it forces you closer together and helps you see each other’s true self. That said, you don’t need to. Shacking up because time is up on your current lease or it’s convenient, cheaper, or just what your boyfriend wants are not solid justifications. The only reason you should do it is because you are truly ready. If it doesn’t feel right yet, say no. The risk is small: If your boyfriend’s happy now, he’d be stupid to break things off just because you want to stay put at your place.
