Leaving her old life behind suits her just fine!
A year ago, Suits actress Meghan Markle was happily single, starring in one of TV’s biggest shows and eagerly planning her break into movies. But now the stunning brunette is on the brink of giving it all up for love. Instead of planning her next screen role, the 35-year-old divorcée from California is preparing to become a princess.
“The turn Meghan’s life has taken is like something from a film,” marvels a close friend, speaking exclusively to Woman’s Day. “If you’d told her a year ago that she’d have fallen for a prince and be facing a life of royalty, she’d have laughed the house down.
“But she’s fully aware of what’s at stake and what she has to give up. She’s made it clear that her love for Prince Harry trumps everything. She says she’d do absolutely anything for him – and that includes giving up her life as an actress for one of full-time charity work and royal duty. She’s ready and willing.”
Meghan, who plays racy Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, is understood to be virtually living with Harry, 32, at his Kensington Palace apartment. While all other visitors to the royal grounds have to show a written invitation and two forms of ID before they’re allowed entry, the prince has instructed security staff to treat Meghan as though she lives there. And over the past few months, she’s regularly been spotted breezing through the gates as she comes and goes from the local shops.
While the star – who divorced her first husband Trevor Engleson in 2013 – is currently commuting to Canada for filming, she’s said to have asked the show’s bosses to write her out for good. As well as shutting down her blog and abandoning her fashion line, Meghan has even told her agents that she won’t be available for any future acting work.
