Designed by Shroffleon, Apartment 701 in Mumbai, challenges the conventional apartment by having a balcony which extends to the terrace, and myriad custom-designed bespoke elements.
Apartment 701 in Mumbai, designed by Kayzad Shroff and Maria Leon, for a family of industrialists, epitomises the blend of nature and luxury, and to some extent even differs from a conventional high-rise apartment.
Spatially, the apartment comprises of a living space, kitchen, TV room, spa room, and five bedrooms, along with a terrace towards the rear of the house. Converting it into a single apartment from two large ones, was the major spatial alteration. Being a small family, the client’s requirement was not to have several rooms, but instead have an intimate connection with nature. To achieve this, a part of the living room was developed as a garden, extending into a balcony which now forms the terrace as well. The terrace also doubles up as a living room in the winter.
