Blow away the cobwebs and supercharge your mental wellbeing with these seven superb coastal walks

Beside the SEASIDE...

Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland

Overlooking the crashing North Atlantic Ocean, the glorious Causeway Coast is a land of myth and legend, as well as stunning views, with beaches, forests, cliffs, rocks, headlands and ancient landforms. The Causeway Coastal Route also encompasses some really remarkable landmarks, including the nail-biting Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, just outside Ballintoy, the dramatic ruins of Downhill Demesne and the world-famous Giant's Causeway.

Explore the dramatic coastlines of Devon and Cornwall along this 630-mile route. It stretches from the shores of Poole Harbour in Dorset to Minehead, the gateway to Exmoor National Park. It takes about eight weeks to walk end to end – the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis 26 times over – but you don’t have to walk it all. Highlights include the Jurassic Coast, spanning 185 million years of geological history – and England’s only natural World Heritage site. Plus Land’s End and Lizard Point (England’s most west and south spots), and Poldark country – sections were used in filming for the popular BBC TV series.
