The art of embracing fate

Amor Fati

E ver since I've come across the compelling phrase 'amor fati', I can't stop thinking about it. The ancient Latin expression has perfectly captured my imagination.

Well, just like me, the beauty and insight of amor fati has won over many hearts and it is one of the most common words to be tattooed globally.

Often associated with Stoicism (a school of ancient Greco-Roman philosophy), amor fati translates to 'love of one's fate'. At first glance though, accepting life as such might seem too inhuman to comprehend.

Isn't it instinctive for us to brood over things and wonder "why me?", "what if?", and so on. But in reality, we don't get to choose much of what happens to us, do we? Ultimately it is what it is. In that event, instead of struggling against the inevitable, we could choose to love our fate and embrace it with grace, so suggested the wise.
