Russell Crowe had heads turning for all the right reasons as he walked the red carpet at the Golden Bee Awards in Malta last week. With his longtime love Britney Theriot, 33, on his arm, the 61-year-old cut a dashing figure in an all-black outfit, which accentuated his recently slimmed-down physique.

And according to those close to the Gladiator star, there’s a personal reason behind his trim and terrific new look, a wedding is imminent!

“Russell had to slim down for his Great Depression movie he's about to start filming in Bavaria [The Weight with Ethan Hawke], but he’s always said he wanted to be in shape for his wedding day to Britney,” an insider tells Woman's Day.
