Olivia Attwood has been backed as ITV’s next big star after landing a coveted role presenting This Morning over the summer months.

However, it seems the announcement that the former Love Island star has been given the job has ruffled a few feathers at ITV, which is undergoing a major cost-cutting drive and set to axe more than 220 jobs across its daytime shows.

Some at ITV are reportedly unsure if Olivia, 34, has the gravitas for a seat on the famous sofa. One TV insider said, 'There's definitely a split in the building. Some of the senior producers are worried viewers won't take Olivia seriously. Others think she could bring in a new audience and refresh the format.'
