Former Loose Women panellist Carol McGiffin has launched a blistering tirade on her former colleagues

Carol's BRUTAL ATTACK

For more than 20 years she established herself as one of the most outspoken - and divisive - members of the Loose Women panel before abruptly leaving the show in 2023.

Now, in an explosive interview with Dan Wootton, Carol McGiffin has laid into her former colleagues, just weeks after they were left devastated and shocked by the recent sweeping cuts to the show that will see many lose their jobs.

In the blistering attack, Carol, 65, appeared to brand the Loose Women show 'rubbish' and attacked ITV bosses amid reports they are seeking to draft in younger 'influencers' in a bid to win back viewers. 'They can stand there and say the reason we're suffering is because of online TV,' said Carol. 'Maybe it's just because it's rubbish and they just aren't very good at it any more.'

Speaking on Dan Wootton's Outspoken podcast, Carol said, 'A lot of young people never watch television. The fact that ITV thinks if we get all these young influencers on, everyone's going to start watching daytime TV is just ridiculous.'

Carol was a regular on the Loose Women panel from 2000 to 2013, coming back in 2018 but leaving again in 2023, slamming the show as 'very woke' and that she 'wasn't really welcomed'.

In the recent podcast, Carol revealed that when she returned in 2018 she thought she 'could make it great again' but it had 'proved impossible'.

Carol's extraordinary outburst comes in the wake of a major ITV shake up that will see both Loose Women and Lorraine cut to 30 shows a year and the axing of around 220 jobs across the shows.
