STAY or SPLIT?

These are the questions you really need to ask when love is on the line
Relationships can be stressful and, the further you get into them, the easier it can be to lose sight of why you got together in the first place.
But what might be surprising is that divorce rates for older couples - coined 'silver splicers' - are on the rise. 'What felt tolerable at 40 might feel stifling at 65,' says psychologist Dr Elena Touroni (thechelseapsychologyclinic.com). 'But choosing personal fulfilment over a marriage is still a hard decision.' Our experts reveal the key questions to ask yourself to determine whether your love is worth saving - or not.
1 Are you... willing to change your negative behaviours?
'It's easy to focus on a partner's flaws, but both people need to acknowledge their role in the problem,' says dating coach Adam Lyons (askthedatingcoach.com).
'Change starts with accountability, so ask yourself, what am I doing that might be contributing to our problems, and how can I fix it? If you're unwilling to change, the relationship is unlikely to improve.'
2 Are you... using your kids as a reason to stay together?

ASK US ANYTHING
I'm single, and for ages I've had difficulty around sex with new partners. At first, I was just uncomfortable with penetration, but now it's painful, and I sometimes bleed. My best friend has been really great, encouraging me to relax and try different positions. But none of that's helping, and now she's saying I should see a doctor. But do I really need to? I'd rather sort this out for myself.
