Party ANIMALS!

Jeremy celebrated with the traditional Corbett birthday breakfastI've just had a birthday.

It was a most excellent day, thanks for asking! I won't tell you my age, but just let's say I'm at the tail end of the baby boomers and was born in 1962.

Like all birthdays in the Corbett household, it started with a hiss and a roar at about 6.45am. As per usual, the first noises I heard was my family in the hall, just outside the bedroom, telling each other to “Shussshuh!”

They all burst in singing different versions, in different keys, of Happy Birthday and calling me by different names. This year it was a mixture of “Dad”, “Jeremy”, “Brucey boy” and “Woof”.

Then they all plopped on the bed, including the dog, and proceeded to present the gift. Or should I say gifts as I was rather spoiled this year.
