I'm guessing some of you are beginning to stress about Christmas gifts you haven't yet bought. I cannot believe the advice I'm about to offer. If you'd offered me the same advice up to a year ago, I'd have scoffed. Yet here it is: how about buying a board game?

I know this sounds so lame and old-school. When did board games go out of fashion? Your hubby would rather have socks and undies or soap on a rope than Scrabble. Your kids would laugh, then cry, if they unwrapped the new Christchurch Monopoly set, even if you lived in Christchurch. (I'm just grumpy because Christ's College features - some old-school rivalry.) But I have news for you: board games are back.
