● I'm from a time when a weekend away was the norm.  Nowadays things are much quicker than they used to be and we sometimes forget to stop because we've overscheduled our lives. My latest Weekend Escapes isn't just about taking time out in the idyllic landscapes of the North East, it's also a reminder that maybe we need to slow down a bit, take a road less travelled, enjoy the scenery and the wildlife and hear and listen to it as well.

● Grantchester is probably the most fun I've had in any job. I've done it for nine years. The cast are great, the setting is beautiful, it never rests on its laurels and its quality is recognised around the world. It's a great series to be part of.
