What we love right now

A brolly that looks like a duck, a wintry spa escape, rainy-day boots and a braaiing-only restaurant – it's clear as day that winter is here!
Cute to boot
I received a pair of Toni Pons glittery Chelsea boots as a gift, and I have to say they're amazing. The insole is lined, so it's soft, with good cushioning. They're perfect for winter, especially when you spend every Saturday next to a hockey or rugby field. It's a big plus that the soles are non-slip. I love the silvery colour; it goes with everything. Sun-kissedGive me a multipurpose skincare/ makeup product and I'm already halfway sold. The SPF element is important too – it's the one step I rarely skip. So The Laser Beautique's SunKissed Tinted SPF 50 ticks a few boxes for me: antioxidant-rich moisturiser, sunblock and tint in one, with lovely packaging as a bonus. Luckily, of the three currently available shades, the Sunlit Tan (medium) shade matches my skin tone perfectly. I hear the range is expanding soon, which is great news for everyone else.
I'm fussy about finishes: too shiny and I reach for powder; too matte and I feel my skin looks dull. This one gives a subtle glow, striking just the right balance. The Laser Beautique Sun-Kissed Tinted SPF 50 (R615 for 50 ml) thelaserbeautique.co.za

Keeping the home fires burningBoland steakhouse VUUR is quite literally a trailblazer: It was recently ranked 87th in World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, one of just two South African restaurants to make the list.
This global nod comes hot on the heels of another major milestone: its first star at the prestigious Eat Out Awards, solidifying VUUR’s place among South Africa’s top-tier restaurants.
