This popular two-berth makes a great starter van

STERLING ECCLES AMBER (2003)

BAGGING A BARGAIN can be a great feeling, especially if it’s your first tourer and you are on a limited budget – or just want to dip your toe in the water.

These days, though, cheaper used caravans can be quite thin on the ground - one reason being that many such models are exported abroad.

imageHere, we were keen to track down a comfortable tourer for couples that would provide a reasonable spec level, without breaking the bank.

We found a very promising example in this Amber, an end-washroom two-berth produced under the Sterling Eccles brand. But would this 2003 model represent value for money for first-time buyers?

Model history

The Sterling name was added to both the Eccles and the Europa brands after Swift took over the main company, Sprite Leisure, back in 1994.

imageThe brand had a long history, selling very well over the years. As a separate brand, it enabled Swift to position these ranges in non-Swift dealerships.
