FORMER APPLE CO-00 JEFF WILLIAMS NOMINATED TO THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY BOARD AS AN INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

The Walt Disney Company has nominated former Apple operating-executive Jeff Williams to join its board of directors, marking a significant crossover between leading technology hardware engineering and global media operations.

Williams, who stepped down from his role at Apple earlier in 2025 after more than a decade overseeing operations and product development, is slated for election during Disney's 2026 annual shareholders’ meeting. If confirmed, the board would expand to 11 members.

Williams’ nomination reflects both Disney’s interest in bolstering its leadership with seasoned technologists and the growing convergence between digital-device ecosystems, media production, and global consumer entertainment. His tenure at Apple encompassed major product cycles — including projects that helped define the modern smartphone, wearable, and computing markets — experience that Disney may view as valuable amid the industry's accelerating digitization and content delivery via global streaming platforms.

AN APPLE VETERAN WITH DECADES OF OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Jeff Williams joined Apple early in its history and rose through the ranks to become chief operating officer in 2015. Over his career at Apple, he oversaw the logistical and engineering operations behind flagship products including the iPhone, Apple Watch, and key Mac releases. His responsibilities bridged supply-chain management, product rollout, hardware development, and the coordination required to maintain Apple's high standards for quality across multiple product lines.
