ADOBE LAUNCHES PHOTOSHOP MOBILE BETA FOR ANDROID
Techlife News #710
|Techlife News
Adobe announced the launch of a beta version of its Photoshop mobile app for Android devices, available for free download on the Google Play Store. The app, optimized for smartphones, includes core Photoshop features like layering, masking, and Firefly-powered generative AI tools, targeting both new and experienced creators.
-
The Photoshop mobile beta for Android offers a range of editing tools adapted from the desktop version, including selections, layers, masks, and blend modes. Users can combine and blend images, remove or replace elements with the Tap Select tool, and eliminate distractions using the Spot Healing Brush, Remove, and Clone Stamp tools. The app supports Firefly generative AI features like Generative Fill, allowing users to add or transform image elements via text prompts, such as inserting a tree into a landscape or altering a background. It also provides access to a library of free Adobe Stock assets, Object Select, and Magic Wand tools for precise edits, and adjustment layers for controlling effects like brightness or contrast.
The app requires devices running Android 11 or later with at least 6GB of RAM, though Adobe recommends 8GB for optimal performance. All features are free during the beta period, with additional capabilities planned for future updates. Tutorials within the app guide users on leveraging layers, selections, and AI tools, covering tasks like creating composites or refining portraits. The Adobe Community Forums and Inspiration Hub offer support, troubleshooting tips, and creative resources, including templates and project ideas.
