In today’s digital era, incorporating technology is essential to accommodate the needs of the times. Traditional teaching methods took a hit during the pandemic when everything went remote which amplified the move towards adopting digital technologies in learning.

One of the recently burgeoning tech enabled learning method is blended learning. Also known as flipped classroom, it is a learning method that combines technology, digital media with traditional instructorled classroom activities allowing student to tailor their learning experiences.

In the recent interaction with siliconindia, Prof. Prakash Gopalan, shared his insights on how the rise of blended learning models in the digital era will transform education in India.

Key Factors Driving Adoption of Blended Learning

The education landscape is swiftly transforming with the adoption of blended learning models. Notably, in-person instruction is combined in one form or the other with online elements in blended learning. Its adoption is being driven largely by technology. Additional factors include the growing need for personalized learning and a demand for greater flexibility & accessibility.

During the pandemic, there was rapid adoption of online learning. Learning went from being hundred percent in-person to hundred percent, online mode. However, now we are witnessing that complete online mode is not working very well. We are seeing the blending of online and in-person.

On one hand, blended learning improves engagement and collaboration, that takes care of various learning styles and needs. It is making education more adaptable and inclusive across different educational sectors.
