Mental health is no longer a taboo topic in the Philippines.

More Filipinos are openly talking about anxiety, burnout, and emotional wellbeing. But while awareness is rising, many still hesitate when it comes to taking action.

According to the latest AXA Mind Health Study, 65% of Filipinos say they are aware of mental health issues—placing the country among the highest globally in terms of awareness. Yet only about a third say they know what to actually do when they or someone close to them faces a mental health challenge.

That gap between recognition and response is where many people get stuck.

Awareness Isn't the Finish Line

"Awareness without action leaves people vulnerable," says Paula Ferrer Cheng, head of research and development at Mind You, AXA Philippines' partner in mental health.
