Mondi and the UN World Food Programme strengthen partnership to reduce food loss through sustainable packaging

Mondi Group, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, is proud to announce a three-year extension to its partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the world's largest humanitarian organisation providing food assistance to those recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.

Over the past few years, Mondi's technical expertise, R&D infrastructure, and financial contribution have supported WFP in improving and optimising packaging solutions to withstand difficult transport, storage and handling conditions in crisis-affected regions. Between 2024-2027, the partnership aims to find more sustainable alternatives to existing packaging materials, supporting WFP food manufacturers in working with sustainable fibre - both virgin and recycled, optimising material use, and enhancing packaging quality.
